Pottery Workshops
Level Up Your Throwing Skills
Try pottery for the first time or take your practice to the next level with one-on-one (or two-on-one if you bring a friend) workshops and masterclasses tailored to your needs.
Throwing Workshops for Every Level
Whether you’re new to the wheel or looking to sharpen your technique, my workshops are designed to meet you where you are. Maybe you just want to try throwing for the first time. Maybe you’re ready to finally get centering under control, throw taller forms, or refine the way you shape. Or maybe you want to tackle bigger challenges, like mastering plates.
Each workshop focuses on both the skill and the body awareness behind it, because pottery isn’t just about your hands, it’s about how your whole body works with the clay.

About Me
Hi, I’m Kat. In 2013, I first got into clay as a way to get out of my head and into my body, but it didn’t take long before pottery took over my life. After moving from the Netherlands to Canada in 2016, I started with markets and pop-ups, then moved into wholesale for retail shops all over BC, from Whistler to Tofino and Vancouver to Abbotsford, making more pots a year than I could count. Over time, my work shifted into the hospitality world, creating dinnerware for restaurants and chefs who value contemporary design with a focus on function and simplicity.
You might have seen my custom pieces on the tables of Published on Main (⭐ Michelin Guide), Maenam, The Acorn, Au Petite Comptoir, Prototype Coffee, or Pluvio.
My Teaching Style
My teaching style is light and playful. Expect quirky metaphors, plenty of laughs, and a strong focus on body awareness. Pottery isn’t just about your hands; it’s about how your whole body interacts with the clay and the wheel. The tilt of your wrist, the grounding of your feet, the rhythm of your breath; all of it makes a difference. I’ll show you how to use the physics of a spinning wheel to your advantage so that throwing feels easier, smoother, and more natural.
"I had never made ceramics before, and honestly didn’t know too much about the process. Kat’s instruction was incredible. So happy I did this. I’m itching to do it again" - Christopher.
